Goodbye 2017, Welcome 2018

Well it is hard to believe that we are already a week into 2018.

December seemed to fly by in a mad rush. It is a busy month combining end of year activities and last minute meet ups.

This year I again made a hat for charity. I am involved in a local ladies club and I love that they raise money for local charities in Berkshire and Surrey, helping local communities.

The hat I made them was a black sinamay headpiece with coq spike flowers in black and ivory with Swiss straw stamens and a black sinamay ribbon swirl.

Black and ivory are such a classic combination and always looks good together. This lovely hat was won by blogger a.dose.of . She has a lovely Instagram feed. Check it out at She plans to wear it to Royal Ascot - can't wait to see the pictures.

Roll on 2018...
